Overview
The MultiTech Conduit AP (Access Point) is an industrial LoRaWAN® gateway designed to connect large numbers of IoT devices and sensors to cloud applications, network servers, Niagara systems, and enterprise platforms. The gateway acts as a packet forwarder between LoRaWAN end devices and a central LoRaWAN Network Server.

Initial Access
Default Network Connection
Connect a laptop directly to the Ethernet port.
Factory default IP address:
192.168.2.1
Configure the laptop with an IP address in the same subnet if required.
Accessing the Web Interface
Open a web browser and navigate to:
Because the device uses a self-signed certificate, your browser may display a security warning.
In Chrome and Edge:

Click Advanced.

Select Proceed to 192.168.2.1 (unsafe).
On first access, the gateway enters Commissioning Mode.

Enter a new administrator username.

Enter a new administrator password.
-
Click OK.
The gateway will create the administrator account.
Log in using the credentials you have just created to continue configuration.
Basic Device Configuration
Step 1 – Record Administrator Credentials
During initial commissioning, an administrator username and password are created.
Record these credentials in accordance with Forest Rock cyber security procedures and the customer's site documentation requirements.
If credentials need to be changed later, navigate to:
Administration → User Accounts and update the account details as required.
Step 2 – Configure Time and Time Zone
Navigate to:
System → Date & Time
Configure:

Time Zone

NTP Server

Date and Time
Recommended:
Europe/London
with automatic NTP synchronization enabled.
Ethernet Configuration
Navigate to:
Network → Ethernet
Configure either:
DHCP
Recommended for customer-managed networks.
IPv4 Method = DHCP
Static IP
Example:
IP Address = 10.10.50.25
Subnet Mask = 255.255.255.0
Gateway = 10.10.50.1
DNS = 8.8.8.8
Apply changes and verify connectivity.
Cellular Configuration
(Applicable to MTCAP-L4E1, LNA3, LNA7D and similar cellular models.)
Insert SIM

Power off device

Insert Micro SIM (3FF)

Reboot unit
The CELL LED should illuminate after startup.
Configure APN
Navigate to:
Network → Cellular
Configure:
APN Name
Username (if required)
Password (if required)
Example:
APN = everywhere
for EE UK SIMs.
Apply configuration and verify:
Cellular Status = Connected
LoRaWAN Configuration
Access LoRa Settings
Navigate to:
LoRaWAN → Network Settings
This is the primary page used to commission the LoRa radio.
Configure Gateway Mode
Select:
Mode = Packet Forwarder
This is the most common deployment method and is recommended for Forest Rock installations.
Configure Frequency Region
Select the region matching the installation.

The Conduit AP forwards LoRaWAN traffic to a network server.
