The Tridium IOM range of I/O modules were designed for use as local I/O within motor control cabinets or as remote I/O connected via RS485 Modbus. Typical applications included building automation control systems. The original IP20 rated modules could be plugged together with other IOM modules and fitted onto standard TS35 DIN rail or fitted directly onto a backplate using screw fixings. The cascade design allowed for power and 2-wire RS485 Modbus communications to be connected through without any extra wiring pictured below.
The Tridium IOM range of I/O module are no longer manufactured by Tridium so our advice is to upgrade to the latest Niagara products.
However lets say your stuck with the client having no budget currently and you need a quick and easy solution, here is a module that is compatible. Conta-Clip manufacture these
Webeasy‘open’ Modbus RTU I/O modules. That have been confirmed to work with the existing IOM Modules from Tridium.
